FORMER Manly Seaeagles player-turned-actor Matt Nable spent his day ahead of the Dally M Awards in Surry Hills auditioning actors for a new production that he has written.
Nable, who wrote and starred in the rugby league centered drama The Final Winter in 2007, said he was happy he wasn’t playing rugby league today.
“I struggle to comprehend that I actually played. It’s a very different sport and very different culture,” he said to Sydney Confidential. “In the early ’90s it was a different environment.
“These guys are under an enormous amount of pressure. I have great respect and I have heroes I look up to … look at Gorden Tallis over there…” Nable, who starred in Underbelly and has a role in Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge, will star in the new TV drama series Hyde and Seek.
